The agricultural cooperative of Nestos was founded in 1988 to develop the cultivation of asparagus and the joint disposal of the products. Asparagus was a newcomer crop species for our country at that time. The development of a crop area has been rapid and successful. In 2004 the cooperative expanded its activity by introducing the cultivation of kiwi to its members.The asso cooperative ciation currently lists 120 members. In 2006, in the bowels of the cooperative, the group of the Asparagus producers of Chrysoupoli was pre- recognised in accordance with REG 2200/96 and the Five Year Recognition Plan, which included investments in infrastructure and equipment, was successfully implemented.

The Agricultural Cooperative of Xanthi was founded in 1926 by agricultural producers who believed firmly in cooperation and it dealt straight away with the gathering and distribution of the products of its members. It is administrated by a five member board of directors which changes every four years and is elected by the Cooperatives’ Representatives’ Meeting. The purpose of the Agricultural Cooperative of Xanthi is the members’ coordination, promotion and well being. A major role in the function and the development of the cooperation plays the human resources. It is the moving power that coordinates, instructs, takes actions and most importantly fulfills all the expectations of each member of the COOP. In 1964, Zaharias Kalaitzidis, the founder of the company, enters for the first time into the grounds of national transportation of sensitive commodities with his privately –owned, public use van. It all started in the mid '50s, when the senior members of the association founded the Agras Agricultural Credit Association, which was updated and renamed into Agras Agricultural Association in 1998. A lot of things have changed since then, but there is one value that has remained unspoilt by time and is interwoven with the history of our land, passing almost naturally from generation to generation: our passion for cherries. Our region and its development is highly associated with cherry production. What makes our cherries exceptional in taste is non other than the microclimate of the area, that renders it absolutely ideal for the particular cultivation. Through the passage of time, we expanded our network of producers with members from neighbouring areas (Edessa and Vegoritida), which are famous for their peach and apple cultivation. Lately, we have traded into chestnuts produced in mountainside Edessa.

Located in Laconia, Greece, near the fertile plain of Skala and the ancient city of Elos, lies the village Grammousa. There are the headquarters of the Agricultural Cooperative ELIOS, which was founded in 2007 and named after General Elio, who according to Pausanias, was the founder of the ancient city of Elos. The Cooperative is compiled of 17 producers and adopts modern farming methods applying the principles of integrated production management. The producers have achieved to make their products popular all over Greece, in a short time.

Our company is situated in the middle of Argolis Plain the contemporary orange grove and our main occupation is the agricultural produce of our region and not only. Our orchards are situated in Andravida, a region of the Ilia prefecture in Peloponnesus, Greece. On this fertile lowland area, about two years ago, we planted 10 acres of the most world-wide recognized pomegranates variety named, "Wonderful". Our choice on both location and variety, proved to be the most appropriate related to the yield and quality of the product. I should dare to say that this place is blessed. The climate combined with the fertile soil, provides ideal conditions for the best quality of fruits to be grown. After only two years since planting, we have been very pleased to receive big, red, juicy, semi-sweet and tasty pomegranates as a result of our efforts, based upon both experience and up-to-date scientific methods.

In 1992 in Elafonissi of the Municipality of Kissamos, the first producer recognizing the potentiasl of the region due to the special climate and the sunny weather even during winter, installed the first greenhouse. The example of the first producer of the Elafonisi tomato, also followed other producers three years later, constantly establishing new production units. Recognizing the quality, the special taste and awareness which the product had now begun to acquire both domestically and in foreign markets, 10 years after the establishment of the first tomato production unit, it was decided at the instigation of the producer and the establishment of the ‘Agricultural Association of Horticultural Producers Greenhouse of Elafonisi-Chrysoskalitisa’. The cooperative was founded in 2002 numbering 20 members and about 200 acres of cultivated acres. The vision and thinking were then common: The consolidation of the producers in an organized group, with equal rights, to increase the present possibilities, to create a model for the time unit to collect and package the product and spread in even larger markets but driven with basic conservation and also the improvement of quality. The vision, the disposition of all for production improvement at all levels, the opportunities and challenges of the markets made the Agricultural Cooperative of Horticultural Producers Greenhouse of Elafonisi-Chrysoskalitisa a standard unit of cooperatives in Western Crete.
